Procedures

Bulls and heifers are delivered to the testing facility and are checked in, weighed and the warm up period begins. This allows all of the animals to get on an even footing before the test starts.

Once the warm up period is finished, the actual test begins. Animals are fed a forage based grain, similar to an oat field at its optimum and are health checked daily.

At the end of the test all animals are weighed and scanned to check for ribeye area, back fat, and intermuscular fat. At this time hip height and scrotal measurements are taken on the bulls and hip height and pelvic measurements are taken on the heifers. All of the data is compiled into a spreadsheet and sent to the owner.

After the test is finished, the owners may pick up their animals or leave them at PX Feeders, LLC for further development or marketing.
